Here is the list of highest highest grossing movies of all time within Indian Territories in different state releases, with gross revenue in Indian rupees, This data doesn’t consist exact financial figures. However this data is collected from various sources, and approximate data is estimated.
The data consists of Highest grossing films, and domestic box office collection reports of different language movies as Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, etc.
Baahubali: The Conculsion (2017) is currently Highest grossing movie domestically, grossing around 1430 crores domestically in India, On its release Baahubali: The Conclusion, broke many box office records, on its first day it grossed 215 crores, that is the highest opening collection of all time, Baahubali: The Conclusion became the first movie to gross over 1000 crores, within 10 days.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion grossed ₹1,430 crore in all languages in India. while net collection was ₹1,115 crore within India. The film Baahubali 2: The Conclusion became the first Indian film, to gross over 1000 crore worldwide. It was followed by the Bollywood film Dangal, which is the highest grossing Indian film. It expanded the club to 1700 crore, 1800 crore and 1900 crore, before creating the ₹2,000 crore ($307 million) club. Becoming the fifth highest-grossing non-English language film of all time. The 1000 crore club was preceded by the 100 crore club.
2.0 is Domestically second highest grossing movie of India. Grossing over 565 crores within India. 2.0 became most expensive film of India, made in the budget of 543 crore.
When adjusted in Inflation, it is estimated that, Mughal-e-Azam (1960), is still considered as the highest grossing movies of all time. In other words the movie is estimated to gross around 2000 crores domestically, which is still an unbeaten record when adjusted inflation.
However, Hollywood’s production movie, Avengers: Endgame (2019), became the 4th highest-grossing film in India, by collecting over ₹464 crore.
In terms of footfalls, four Indian films have exceeded 100 million tickets sold in India. Baahubali 2, Mother India (1957), Mughal-e-Azam and Sholay (1975). In addition, Indian film to have sold 100 million tickets overseas was Awaaa in the Soviet Union. The highest known footfalls worldwide is Sholay, which sold 148.4 million tickets worldwide, including 100 million in India and 48.4 million in the Soviet Union.
